George Rodriguez is our newest teacher. His masterfully playful sculptures have been seen here in Seattle in the windows of Madison Park, and more lately, down at Foster White. In 2010 he was the recipient of the Bonderman Travel fellowship, which took him to 26 countries over 8 months. He brought back fresh perspectives on culture, fashion, architecture and adornment, which he has used to create opulent sculptures full of baroque whimsy on a large scale.
George received his BFA from the University of Texas, El Paso in 2006 and his MFA from the famed University of Washington Ceramics program in 2009. He is the recipient of numerous awards and has shown his work throughout Washington, New Mexico and Texas. We're pleased that he has joined theSeward Park Community and are looking forward to his class and seeing what work his students produce.
