Joel has been actively involved with clay since the mid-1990s.  Though primarily a wheel-thrower, he sometime enjoys altering his forms off the wheel.  His primary method of firing is Raku, which is a way of firing quite quickly, pulling out the pots mid-firing, and then using combustible material to affect the surfaces of the glazes and the clay.  Joel’s work can be seen at www.gonepotting.com.
